Belleville woman charged with impaired after vehicle strikes pole and other vehicles

A Belleville woman was charged with impaired driving after a vehicle struck a pole and other vehicles late Wednesday night.

On April 8th at 11:57pm, Belleville Police responded to reports of a suspected impaired driver in the city’s west end. It was reported that a vehicle struck other cars before colliding with a pole. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle, which was off the roadway as it struck a hydro pole. Officers spoke with the female driver and while conducting further investigation, a BPS instrument/device was also damaged.

As a result, Lisa Knightly, 45-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested and charged with:

· Operation while impaired – alcohol

· Failure or refusal to comply with demand

· Mischief – renders property inoperative X2

She was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in May,
