Death of inmate reported at Millhaven

A death of an inmate is being reported at a regional maximum-security prison.

Correctional Service of Canada officials stated Kenneth Irwin, an inmate from Millhaven Institution’s Regional Treatment Centre, died while in custody of apparent natural causes on Tuesday.

At the time of death, the inmate was 69 years old and had been serving a sentence of 3 years, 6 months and 3 days since August 8, 2025.

The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the CSC will review the circumstances.
