Loyalist College will be recognizing three familiar and distinguished community leaders at this year’s convocation ceremonies in June.
The College will give honourary diplomas to Chris King, Sheri Meeks and Tawnya Smith at the ceremonies June 9 – 12, 2026.
“Convocation marks our students’ transition to alumni and into professional life,” stated Loyalist College President and CEO Mark Kirkpatrick.
“As our graduates celebrate this milestone surrounded by our college community, they will be inspired by the stories and experiences of our honorary diploma recipients, whose careers are the result of years of perseverance, dedication and thoughtful leadership.”
Honorary diplomas are awarded at Convocation to individuals who embody Loyalist College’s core values through outstanding professional achievement and community leadership, serving as examples of excellence for students and graduates.
“Throughout their respective careers in economic development, public service and education, this year’s honorary diploma recipients made deliberate choices to strengthen and contribute to their communities,” said Loyalist College Board of Governors Chair Julie Lange. “Their example encourages our graduates to expand their definition of success beyond personal achievement to include the way their work impacts others and the responsibility that follows.”
