A man is facing prison time in connection to intimate partner violence incidents.

Justice Robert Horton found Javen Partica guilty last month in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on several charges, including sexual assault, assault, two counts of disobeying a court order, uttering death threats, assault causing bodily harm and criminal harassment.

Partica had pled guilty to some of the charges and went to trial on others, Acting Hastings County Crown Attorney Mike Lunski stated.

After being given credit for 35.5 months of time spent in pre-trial custody, Partica was sentenced to a further 36-and-a-half months in the penitentiary from that date.

Partica was also ordered to give a sample of his DNA, was placed on the national sexual offender registry for life, was prevented from having weapons for 10 years and was banned from communicating with the victim while in jail.
