Traffic snarl on 401 in Napanee area

By Brock Ormond Mar 20, 2026 | 12:13 PM

Driving conditions continue to be treacherous on this wintry first day of spring.

A report to InQuinte.ca indicated a traffic snarl on the 401 westbound near Napanee around 11:30 Friday morning.

One car is reported as being pointed in the wrong direction at Switzerville Road.

No word on injuries or number of occupants inside the vehicle.

Meanwhile, a special weather statement is still in effect for the region with snow and ice pellets and some freezing rain before it changes over to rain in areas closer to the lake.

In Centre and North Hastings, we are expecting more snow (5 to 10 cm possible) with less chance of freezing rain.
