Quinte West Winter Games bring Olympic excitement

The Quinte West Winter Games will be bringing winter sport and Olympic excitement Feb. 7-22.

Quinte West residents are invited to get into the spirit of the 2026 Winter Olympics with the launch of the Quinte West Winter Games, a celebration of winter sports and local teams from Feb 7-22 at free or discounted prices.

Residents and visitors are invited to try out or watch community-hosted activities and local winter sports, including curling, hockey, figure skating, skiing, and skating.

Sat., Feb 7 – Free learn-to-curl opportunities at the Trenton Curling Club

Sun., Feb 8 – Discounted lift tickets and ski races (free to watch) at Batawa Ski Hill

Sat., Feb 14 – Free snowshoeing walks at the Batawa trails

Sun., Feb 15 – Frankford Huskies home game, all tickets $5 (kids are free)

Fri., Feb  20 – Trenton Golden Hawks home game featuring performances by the Trenton Figure Skating Club and $5 kids tickets (kids under four are free)

Multiple dates – Free indoor public skating for all ages at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens in Trenton and at the Dr. McMullen Recreation Centre in Frankford

Multiple dates – Free outdoor public skating at the Batawa Lions Club outdoor rinks at the Batawa Community Centre (ice conditions and weather dependent)

Attendees are encouraged to visit the City’s Quinte West Winter Games Booth at select events through February to collect five participation ribbons for a chance to win a Winter Games priz epack featuring winter sport-themed items and other great prizes.

The Winter Games wrap up on Sun, Feb 22, with a free Winter Games Closing Ceremonies viewing party and public skating at the Dr. McMullen Recreation Centre, complete with hot chocolate and family-friendly activities.
