PEC man, an OPP Constable, charged with impaired driving in Stone Mills

The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person with impaired operation following an investigation in Stone Mills Township.

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, at approximately 10:50 p.m., an L&A County OPP officer was approached by an individual that had just exited their vehicle and was displaying potential signs of impairment. The individual was arrested and transported to the L&A County Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Benjamin SNIDER, age 33 of Prince Edward County, has been charged with the following:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The investigation revealed that the accused is a Provincial Constable assigned to the OPP’s East Region with four years of service who was off duty at the time. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
