Eight Belleville residents charged in two large drug seizures

Eight people, all residents of Belleville, were implicated in two major drug seizures in the city on Thursday.

Officers with the Belleville Police Service Drug & Intelligence Unit, Emergency Response Unit and K9 Unit conducted two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrants, with several drugs, pills, cash and assorted items seized.

 

The first warrant was executed in the city’s south end and officers seized the following:

· 6.1 grams of Fentanyl

· 154.9 grams of Cocaine

· 5.3 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine

· 3 hydro morphine pills

· $365 Canadian currency

· 3 cell phones and a tablet

As a result of police investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:

 

Russell Barraige (Jr), 48-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking –Methamphetamine– Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Opioid – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession of Proceeds under $5000- Sec 354(1)(a) CC

 

Melissa Gould, 39-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking –Methamphetamine– Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Opioid – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession of Proceeds under $5000- Sec 354(1)(a) CC

· Fail to comply with probation – S.733.1(1) CC

 

Russell Barriage (Sr), 78-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and released on an Undertaking with a court date in March:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking –Methamphetamine– Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Opioid – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession of Proceeds under $5000- Sec 354(1)(a) CC

 

Kathleen Barriage, 72-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with the following offences and released on an Undertaking with a court date in March:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking –Methamphetamine– Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Opioid – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession of Proceeds under $5000- Sec 354(1)(a) CC

 

The second warrant was executed in the downtown core and officers seized the following:

· 5.3 grams of Cocaine

· 1.6 grams of Fentanyl

· $5,340 in Canadian currency

· 2 cell phones

 

As a result of police investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:

Robert Dent, 44-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession of Proceeds over $5000- Sec 354(1)(a) CC

· Fail to comply with probation – S.733.1(1) CC

 

Austin Healey-Dent, 24-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession of Proceeds over $5000- Sec 354(1)(a) CC

· Outstanding warrants executed

 

Toshia Downs, 46-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with the following offences and released on an Undertaking with a court date in March:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession of Proceeds over $5000- Sec 354(1)(a) CC

 

Michael McCoy, 52-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and released on an Undertaking with a court date in March:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – Sec 5(2) CDSA

· Possession of Proceeds over $5000- Sec 354(1)(a) CC
