Arrests and charges in separate drug seizures in Bancroft Sunday

Two people have been charged in separate drug seizures in Bancroft on Sunday.

Members of the Bancroft OPP arrested an individual suspected of breaching release conditions and discovered suspected methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl in a search of the suspect.

Heidi Brethour, 45, of Bancroft has been charged with the following:

Fail to Comply with a probation order – 3 counts

Fail to comply with a release order – 5 counts

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts

Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was held for bail and remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Tuesday.

Around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, officers were on general patrol when they observed a wanted party in the Town of Bancroft.

A short time later officers arrested the accused. A search was conducted and a small amount of drugs were located.

Ashely SHAW, 35, of Bancroft has been charged with the following:

·        Fail to Comply with a probation order – 4 counts

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on March 3.
