Quinte West Council has finalized their budget discussions this afternoon at City Hall.
Council has approved a 2026 municipal tax levy of $92,546,356, representing an average residential tax increase of 4.99%, equal to roughly$199 more per year for the average home assessed at $250,000.
Councillor Roseblade, seconded by Councillor Stedall, did amend the 2026 budget by removing the Slab Replacement Project in the amount of $2.5 million and deferring it to the 2027 budget.
The full recommendation that was approved also included:
That the 2026 Operating budget for the City of Quinte West, in the amount of $112,013,551, be approved;
And further that the 2026 Capital Budget for the City of Quinte West, in the amount of $20,896,000 be approved;
And further that the 2027 Capital Budget for the City of Quinte West Fleet, in the amount of $3,155,000 be approved
That the 2026 Operating Budget for the City of Quinte West – Water and Wastewater, in the amount of $26,109,300, be approved
And further that the 2026 Capital Budget for the City of Quinte West – Water and Wastewater, in the amount of $8,715,000 be approved.
The budget will be finalized on Dec 17, 2025.
