The first installation in Belleville Transit’s new community art initiative has officially arrived, featuring creations by the Grade 5 class at Prince Charles Public School.

Their project, “Where the Bus Takes Us”, now brightens the interior panels of a Belleville Transit bus, bringing colour, creativity and a celebration of young local talent to riders across the city.

By adding original artwork to buses, the aim of the initiative is to make every ride a little brighter, sparking curiosity and enjoyment for passengers of all ages.

The Grade 5 class is just the first group to have their art displayed, as the organization is looking to work with other schools and classrooms for future installations.

“We’re incredibly proud to partner with local schools on this initiative,” said Brad Strauss, Manager of Transit Services. “Seeing students’ artwork come to life on our buses is inspiring, and we look forward to expanding this program throughout the community.”

The project will continue to create opportunities for local businesses to support arts and culture through advertising partnerships on Belleville Transit, connecting with riders while helping to brighten everyday commutes.
