Belleville man charged on domestic violence case

A Belleville man has been charged twice on consecutive days following an investigation into domestic violence.

On December 17th at 6:52pm, Belleville Police responded to an address in the city’s west end regarding a report of a domestic dispute. Witnesses reported hearing a disturbance and observed a male striking a female as the parties exited the residence.

As a result of investigation, a 29-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an Undertaking with conditions to not communicate with the female or attend her residence.

On December 18th at 12:45am, Belleville Police received a report that the same male had returned to the residence, in breach of his release conditions.

As a result, the male was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to comply with an Undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing.
