Belleville Holiday changes and closures

The City of Belleville is informing the public of holiday changes and closures at various sites and locations from now until the New Year.
City Hall – Open from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Dec. 24 and 31. Closed on Dec. 25, 26 and Jan. 1.
  • Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre – Closed at noon Dec. 24, closed Dec. 25 and Dec. 26, closed at noon Dec. 31 (Ice, FDC Track, Pool and Programs close at 11:15 a.m. The building will remain open for the New Year’s Eve Belleville Senators game). Closed Jan. 1 (open for New Year’s Day Levee and skate from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) For more details and a list of customer service hours from Dec. 16, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2026, please visit: QSWC.ca.
  • Transit – Service ends at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. No service on Dec. 25, 26 or Jan 1.
  • Garbage, Green Bin, Recycling and Bulky Item Collection:
    • During the week of Christmas, residents with Tuesday collection will take place on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, instead of Tuesday, Dec. 23. Wednesday collection will move to Tuesday, Dec. 23, instead of Wednesday, Dec. 24. Thursday collection for Christmas Day will occur on Wednesday, Dec. 24, instead of Thursday, Dec. 25. Friday collection for Boxing Day will take place on Saturday, Dec. 27, instead of Friday, Dec. 26.
    • During the week of New Years, residents with Tuesday collection will be held on Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, instead of Tuesday, Dec. 30. Wednesday collection will move to Tuesday, Dec. 30, instead of Wednesday, Dec. 31. Thursday collection for New Year’s Day will occur on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, instead of Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. There will be no change to Friday’s collection on Jan. 2, 2026.
    • Please note: the Curbside Collection portal will also list the updated collection schedule and 2026 calendar.
  • Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot – Closed Dec. 25 to Jan. 1 inclusive.
  • Leaf & Yard Waste Depot – Closed for the season.
  • Thurlow Landfill – No change to regular public hours. Closed Dec. 26 for industrial use.
  • Glanmore National Historic Site:
    • Open Dec. 20 and 21 from 1 to 4 p.m.
    • Closed Dec. 22
    • Open Dec. 23 from noon to 4 p.m.
    • Closed Dec. 24 to 26
    • Open Dec. 27 and 28 from 1 to 4 p.m.
    • Closed Dec. 29
    • Open Dec. 30 from noon to 4 p.m.
    • Closed Dec. 31 and Jan 1.
    • Open Jan. 2 from noon to 4 p.m.
    • Open Jan. 3 and 4 from 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Belleville Public Library – Closed on Dec. 24, 25, 26 and Jan. 1. Closed early on Dec. 31 at 4 p.m.
  • Community Archives – Closed Dec. 24 to Jan. 4 inclusive.
Curbside Christmas tree collection will run from Jan. 2 through Jan. 8. The collection schedule can be found at Belleville.ca/YardWaste.
