Quinte residents should brace for strong winds in the forecast the next couple of days.
Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for areas that include Belleville, Quinte West, Brighton and Napanee, saying strong wind gusts could reach up to 80 or 90 kilometres an hour, starting late Wednesday afternoon and lasting into Thursday afternoon.
A Wind Warning was also issued on Wednesday morning for Prince Edward County as winds along the lake are expected to be slightly stronger.
The weather agency says local outages may be possible and residents are urged to protect loose objects outside.
It also warns high-sided vehicles will be pushed around by the wind.
