Huge fire destroys home in Ameliasburgh

By Paul Martin Nov 21, 2025 | 10:59 AM

A huge fire destroyed a home in Ameliasburgh in Prince Edward County on Thursday night.

Prince Edward County Firefighters responded to a fully involved house fire at a two-storey home in the Fenwood Gardens area (Fenwood Crescent) at 10:13 pm.

There was one person inside the home at the time the fire began but they were able to make it out safely. There were no injuries.

The house was completely destroyed. There is no damage estimate yet.

The fire was out by 2 am, but PEC Fire maintained security at the site and inspectors are back on scene Friday morning looking for the cause of the fire.

Another nearby home was briefly evacuated (for about two hours) because there was some concern that the fire was getting too close.

They were able to return early Friday morning.
