The holiday season is in full swing in Quinte this weekend, with several exciting events to make spirits bright for young and old.

It starts with the Bloomfield Nighttime Santa Claus Parade on Friday at 6:30 p.m., followed on Saturday with the CPKC Holiday Train rolling through the area, and the Frankford Santa Claus Parade starting at 2 p.m. and the beginning of the Frankford Fantasy of Lights Display.

The Holiday Train makes a stop in Belleville from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the Keegan Parkway train tracks, then will chug along to Trenton’s RCAF Road Railway Crossing from approximately 10:45 to 11:15 a.m.

This year’s edition of the train features musical performances from Jade Eagleson and Teigan Gayse.

Volunteers with Gleaners Food Bank in Belleville and the Care and Share Food Bank will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items along the way.

Folks in Picton and Trenton will be enjoying their area’s Santa Claus Parades on Sunday.

Picton’s event will start at 1 p.m., while Trenton’s begins at 4:30 p.m.

Next weekend, Quinte West’s Holiday Market will be on both Saturday, December 6 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
