A theft investigation has produced an arrest and charges in Belleville.

Last Tuesday, October 28 around 7 p.m., Belleville Police investigated at a west end business, which a woman had repeatedly entered over several days, stealing merchandise and causing disturbances.

Through video surveillance, officers managed to identify the female suspect.

Around 2 p.m. on Saturday, officers reportedly spotted the female suspect walking on College Street and further investigation revealed she was also bound by a probation order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

46-year-old Amanda Lake of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with theft under $5000, failure to comply with a probation order and common nuisance

She was held for a bail hearing.
