Belleville teen arrested following incident involving knife in city park

Belleville Police have charged a teenage male after an incident involving a knife in a city park.

On November 24th at 10:30pm, Belleville Police received a report of threats being made. It was reported that three youths approached a male in a local park, and one of the youths brandished a knife and made threatening comments.

Through investigation, officers were able to identify the suspect and advised him of the grounds for his arrest.

As a result, on November 25th, a 16-year-old Belleville male whose identity cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with:

· Uttering threats

· Assault with a weapon

· Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose

He was held for a bail hearing.
