Loaded firearm seized, two charged in Cobourg

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged two individuals following a seizure of a loaded firearm in Cobourg.

Members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit arrested two individuals in Cobourg in connection to a drug investigation on Wednesday. A subsequent search warrant was carried out at a residence in Pickering.

Police located and seized a handgun, around 645 grams of cocaine, a quantity of Canadian currency, cell phones and drug paraphernalia.

Shaquille Nathaniel-Lovell, 28, from Pickering, has been charged with:

–      Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine

–      Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

–      Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm

–      Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order

–      Breach of firearms regulations

Andrew Jack, 34, from Ajax, has been charged with:

–      Possession for the purpose of trafficking

–      Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Both accused were held for bail to appear in Cobourg Court.
