Belleville man charged with drug possession in traffic stop

A 44-year-old Belleville man known to city police was arrested and handed drug-related charges following a traffic stop.

Officers stopped a vehicle in the city’s west end before 3 o’clock Tuesday morning and identified the passenger as a man who was wanted on an outstanding Belleville Police warrant.

During a search and investigation, officers seized two cellphones, $121 in Canadian cash, 20.8 grams of cocaine, and .3 grams of crack cocaine

Travis Todhunter faces drug possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking charges, along with charges of failure to comply with a probation order and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

He was held for a bail hearing.
