Huge drug bust in Belleville results in five arrests

A huge drug bust involving the Belleville Police Drug, K9 and Emergency Response Units resulted in the arrests of five people yesterday.

As part of a drug trafficking investigation, members of the BPS Drug Unit stopped a vehicle and arrested two men and one woman.

Following that, officers conducted a search warrant at a west end residence and seized 109 grams of crystal meth and 21-and-a-half grams of cocaine, along with a .22 caliber handgun and almost $4,000 in Canadian Currency.

Two Belleville residents, two people from Whitby and one individual from Peterborough were all charged.

Their full list of charges can be seen below.

 

16-year-old of Whitby whose identity cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

· Proceeds of crime under $5000

· Careless Storage of a Firearm

· Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm

· Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm

· Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

· Fail to Comply with an Undertaking

Elyjah Nelson, 18-year-old Whitby man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

· Proceeds of crime under $5000

· Careless Storage of a Firearm

· Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm

· Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm

· Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

Kennedy Simpson, 29-year-old Peterborough woman, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

· Proceeds of crime under $5000

· Careless Storage of a Firearm

· Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm

· Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Restricted Firearm

· Possession of a Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

Keisha McBride, 20-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

· Fail to Comply with an Undertaking

Sarah Hilts, 45-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with the following offences and released on an Undertaking with a court date in October:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

Tyler Watson, 40-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and released on an Undertaking with a court date in October:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

· Breach of Probation
