UPDATE – Names released in Trenton drug bust

Nine people have been charged following a drug bust on Wednesday morning in Trenton.

Officers with Quinte West OPP, the Street Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) raided a home on Marmora Street in Trenton around 5 am.

A quantity of suspected cocaine, hydromorphone and cash were seized.

Shawn CHAMBERS (Junior), 30 years old from Trenton, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Fail to comply with probation order – 2 counts
  • Failure to comply with release order – 3 counts

Aaron GRAY, 37 years old from Trenton, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with probation order

Darlene BUTT (40 years old from Trenton), Joey CHAMBERS (31 years old from Trenton), Laura CHAMBERS (55 years old from Trenton), Shawn CHAMBERS (Senior, 53 years old from Trenton), Tanya COOPER (45 years old from Trenton), David MACDONALD (44 years old from Belleville) and Amanda YOUNG (38 years old from Trenton) have been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

Shawn CHAMBERS (Junior) is being held in custody pending a bail hearing. The other eight accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 29, 2023.
