Arrests on warrants in Belleville

A pair of men were arrested on warrants in Belleville this weekend.

Belleville Police responded to an address in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute on Saturday after 1:30 p.m.

It was reported that a male and female were in an argument, with the male refusing to leave the female’s residence. Further investigation revealed the male suspect had an outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrant for Assault and failing to comply with a probation order.

Upon arrival, officers located the 31-year-old Belleville man and arrested him on the strength of the warrant.

In a separate incident in the north end of the city on Sunday around 2:15 a.m., Belleville Police responded to an address in the city’s north end regarding a report of another disturbance where a man and woman were arguing and the man was reportedly refusing to leave.

Upon arrival, officers observed the male party who was known to have conditions to not communicate with the female.

As a result of investigation, a 55-year-old Quinte West man, was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

Both men have scheduled bail hearings.
