Belleville Police issue fireworks reminder

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 22, 2025 | 10:18 AM

The Belleville Police Service would like to remind residents that fireworks are only permitted during designated holidays.

As per the fireworks by-law (By-law 2022-129, Part VI) in Belleville, the public discharge of consumer fireworks is only allowed on the day before, the day of, and the day after Victoria Day and Canada Day, unless written permission is obtained from the Fire Chief.

The BPS asks that everone please ensure you are aware of and follow all local by-laws to help keep our community safe.

There have been several reports on social media of fireworks being used at multiple locations around the city since the weekend.
