Prince Edward County is lower on building permits, but higher on construction value in year-to-year comparisons.
The municipality noted in its January building report that 23 permits worth more than $3.7 million were issued last month, compared to 28 permits at a $2.6 million tag from January 2025.
The total number of new homes, including secondary suites, was four for the month.
The largest price tag impact the County building report was a $1.2 million permit for a new addition to an existing building for proposed retail use.
