A new doctor will be serving the Quinte West and Brighton regions.
Docs by the Bay Physician Recruitment & Retention announced on Thursday that Dr. Antonia Salhab will be joining the community to practice family medicine.
Originally from Toronto and living in Oshawa, Dr. Salhab completed an Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Toronto, earned her medical degree from St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine in the Cayman Islands, and completed her residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois.
Dr Salhab said she is looking forward to moving to a smaller community to care for patients.
Quinte West mayor Jim Harrison stated Salhab will be a ‘tremendous asset’ and will help expand vital access to primary care for our residents.
Brighton Mayor Brian Ostrander added his municipality is grateful to Dr. Salhab for bringing her skills and compassion to local patients.
Docs by the Bay extends its thanks to Dr. Evans for helping to recruit Dr. Salhab, as well as other local physicians, for their continued dedication to physician recruitment in the region.
Docs by the Bay reminds residents that it does not keep a waitlist or connect individual patients with doctors.
Residents seeking a family physician or nurse practitioner should register with Health Care Connect at ontario.ca or by calling 1-800-445-1822.
