Multiple charges were laid following a violent attack on Thursday morning in Belleville.
On September 3, 2026, at 8:39 a.m., Belleville Police responded to the city’s east end regarding an assault.
It was reported that an unknown female began following a woman who was walking in the area while yelling at her. The woman contacted police, and while speaking with dispatch, the suspect reportedly threatened her before assaulting her by punching and choking her.
Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect actively assaulting the victim. Officers immediately intervened and placed the suspect under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Belleville woman of no fixed address was arrested and charged with:
· Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
· Assault causing bodily harm – choke
· Assault
· Fail to comply with probation order X4
She was held for a bail hearing.
