Two Cobourg residents facing charges related to breaches of release conditions

Two Cobourg residents are facing charges related to breaches of release conditions after police observed them while on patrol.

On December 8, 2025, police observed two individuals together in the area of King Street West and Division Street. Police were aware of multiple release orders with conditions not to communicate or be around one another.

As a result of the police investigation, a 29-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man were arrested. The woman was charged with five counts of failure to comply with the Release Order and the Probation Order.

In addition, she was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime from a previous shoplifting occurrence. The man was charged with two counts of failure to comply with the Release Order and failure to comply with the Probation Order. Both were held in custody pending a Show Cause Hearing scheduled for December 9, 2025.

The Cobourg Police Service notes that since December 2024, the woman has been arrested seven times with 20 criminal charges. In total, police have had 47 interactions with the accused in the past year. The man has been arrested four times with eight criminal charges. In total, police have had 34 interactions with the accused in the past year.
