Pitstop pays off: Trenton resident wins 2nd Early Bird Car4Cancer Lotto prize

The Belleville General Hospital Foundation (BGHF) is thrilled to announce that Trenton resident Daltan Andrews is the lucky winner of the Car4Cancer Lotto Early Bird #2 prize of $2,500.  Ticket Number: 10213868008

Andrews, who had never played before, purchased eight tickets on a whim when visiting Lange & Fetter Motors to look at a new vehicle. “I couldn’t believe it when I got the call—I just laughed,” said Andrews. “It was an impulse buy, but I’m glad I did it. Supporting the hospital is important—we all need great local care.”

This marks the second early bird draw in the 2025 Car4Cancer Mustang GT Premium Convertible campaign, which has already seen exceptional success with more than $234,000 in ticket sales generated so far—and there are still 32 days left until the live grand prize draw on September 30th.

Executive Director Steven Cook noted that sales have surged thanks to the added momentum of the 50/50 component. “Part of the popularity this year has been a surge in 50/50 ticket sales, with the estimated prize pot already over $25,000,” said Cook. “That in itself is a great incentive to purchase tickets.” You can get your ticket here.

Board Chair Wayne Sheppard highlighted how important the lotto has become for healthcare in the region. “The Car4Cancer Lotto is more than a fun chance to win a car or cash,” said Sheppard. “It’s helping us transform cancer care and diagnostics at Quinte Health. These funds allow us to meet the growing needs of our community. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”

The next early bird deadline is September 10th, giving players another chance to win a bonus $2,500 prize before the Mustang GT Convertible grand prize draw on September 30th. Tickets are available across Ontario, and while several recent winners have been local, anyone in the province can participate for their chance to win big and support regional healthcare.

The Belleville General Hospital Foundation expects to surpass $1 million in lotto revenue this year—doubling last year’s financial results. Proceeds will directly support cancer care and diagnostics at Quinte Health, ensuring patients have access to the best tools and treatment close to home.
