Two people charged following intimate partner violence call in Belleville

Two people were charged following a call involving intimate partner violence in Belleville on Wednesday.

On October 29th at 3:39pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the involved parties. It was reported that a female attempted to wake her partner, who then pushed her against a wall. The male reported that the female then began punching him.

As a result of investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:

A 22-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault. He was held for a bail hearing.

A 21-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with assault and failure to comply with a probation order. She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
