Halloween is just around the corner, and excitement is building across Belleville! As families get ready to head out trick-or-treating, the Belleville Police Service reminds everyone to celebrate safely.
To help ensure a safe Halloween for all, officers, Auxiliary Officers and Community Volunteers will be out across the city as part of the Halloween Safe Streets Program. Volunteers will walk or drive through neighborhoods to help keep trick-or-treaters safe and can be easily spotted in reflective vests.
Halloween Safety Tips:
· Go trick-or-treating with an adult or in a group of friends.
· Wear light-colored or reflective clothing and carry a flashlight.
· Walk on sidewalks and cross only at intersections.
· Avoid masks that obstruct vision.
· Wait until an adult has checked your treats before eating them.
· Never enter a stranger’s home, and if you need help, go to a well-lit house or call police.
The Belleville Police Service wishes everyone a safe, fun-filled Halloween and extends its thanks to all who help make the night enjoyable for the community.
