Quinte West Council approves a mural to be completed on the Centre Cinemas building

Quinte West Council has approved a mural to be completed on the Centre Cinemas building located at 120 Dundas St W, Downtown Trenton.

The request was brought forward by Jake Jackman, Manager of Centre Cinemas.

The mural will be completed by Christopher Bennett, owner of Serna Custom Designs. It will showcase Hollywood North (approx. 1917-1935) – a tribute moving through time. This would depicit the buildings of the era, films made during this time, with possible signatures from film posters used during this era. Moving from north to south on the building, the mural will begin to have colours added, bringing the past to life and showcasing the rich history for residents and tourists alike.

The goal is to have the mural completed as soon as possible, the process of beginning the mural taking place this month, with an approximate timeline provided by Christopher Bennett of 30 days for completion from the start date.

Council approved this request under the condition that a copy of what the mural would look like be provided before work begins.
