Local OJHL rivals face off this afternoon in Wellington

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 7, 2025 | 9:20 AM

Rivals the Wellington Dukes and the Trenton Golden Hawks open their 2025-26 OJHL seasons this afternoon at Lehigh Arena in Wellington.

Trenton is aiming to defend their Buckland Cup title after claiming victory last season, defeating the Milton Menace in a six-game series.

On the other hand, the Dukes are entering the season with a familiar face stepping into a new role. Jacob Panetta, a well-known former Duke, alongside his brothers, has been named the Head Coach and General Manager for the Wellington Dukes for the 2025-26 season.

Puck drop is at 2:30pm.
