Prince Edward County building numbers were down a little in August when compared year-over-year.

Last month, 36 permits were issued for projects across the County at a construction value of more than $5.5 million.

That is below the numbers recorded in August of 2024, when 58 permits were issued worth a little more than $9 million.

County building officials say permits were issued for five new homes last month, including secondary suites.

Year-to-date numbers show the County being behind the pace set last year with 398 permits and $78.7 million in construction value.

A list of projects given permits last month can be seen here.
