The Quinte West OPP has laid charges in four impaired driving investigations.
On Thursday, September 11, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a traffic complaint on Highway 2 led to an investigation where an individual was arrested for being impaired.
Richard Eggleton, 52, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Later on Thursday, around 10:45 p.m., officers responded to another traffic complaint on Stockdale Rd., resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired.
Jason Vidito, 45, from Prince Edward County, was charged with the following offences:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Then, at approximately 11:15 p.m., officers with the Quinte West OPP responded to a traffic complaint on 2nd Dug Hill Road leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired.
After being taken to the OPP detachment for further testing, Alisha Smith, 28, from Quinte West was charged with impaired driving.
Finally, around 7:45 p.m. on Friday night, officers with the Quinte West OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Glen Ross Road leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired.
Shirley Shields, 63, from Quinte West, was charged with the following offences:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – combined blood alcohol and blood drug concentration (80 plus)
Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
All the accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Belleville Court on a later date.
Additionally, the vehicles they were operating were impounded for seven days, and their licences suspended for 90 days.
