Self-service kiosk now available at the downtown Belleville Community Policing Office

The Belleville Police Service has introduced a new self-service kiosk at the Downtown Belleville Community Policing Office, located at 211 Front St.

The kiosk provides residents with convenient access to services such as e-report filing, bicycle registration, criminal record checks, and the opportunity to share compliments about officers.

The kiosk was introduced to improve accessibility for those who may find it difficult to travel to the main police station at 459 Sidney St.

Before moving forward, the Belleville Police Service consulted with Downtown Community Policing Office Ambassador Harry Burley, who has been working at the office since January.

Burley strongly supported the idea and says he sees the benefits every day.

“We see a lot of people coming in to report stolen bicycles or other incidents,” said Burley. “Having this kiosk downtown gives people faster access to crime reporting tools and other services, and that contributes to a safer community.”

Burley, a retired Special Constable, comes from a long line of law enforcement officers. Born and raised in Belleville, he takes pride in his role downtown.

“I love talking to people and being part of this community,” he said. “This office connects people, supports local businesses, and strengthens public safety.”

The Downtown Belleville Community Policing Office is a vital resource that keeps the Belleville core welcoming, safe and connected.
