Water trunk construction to impact Belleville St traffic and Wellington bulk water station Sep 25

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 18, 2025 | 12:25 PM

The installation of a water trunk main connection in Wellington will impact traffic on Belleville St on Thursday, Sep 25.

In addition, the bulk water filling station at the Wellington and District Community Centre will be temporarily out of service that day.

Belleville St across from the water tower will be reduced to one lane. Flaggers will control the flow of traffic through the construction area. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes if possible.

Work will take place from 7am to 7pm and is expected to be completed the same day.

Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of the work.

Customers requiring bulk water filling service during this time are asked to use the Picton (15 MacSteven Dr) or Carrying Place (21651 Loyalist Parkway) bulk loading stations.

This work is required as part of the Wellington trunk watermain and sanitary sewer construction project. The municipality expects the majority of the project to be completed by the end of 2025, with some trail restoration happening in the spring of 2026.
