Public asked for feedback on armoured vehicle for BPS

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 19, 2025 | 7:14 AM

The Belleville Police Service is seeking feedback on potential usage of a Community Rescue Vehicle for its tactical response team.

The BPS has released a community survey to the public to understand its thoughts on putting this armoured vehicle into action.

It’s designed with a focus on agility and protection, allowing officers to safely navigate and manage challenging situations.

BPS officials stated some other municipal police services in Ontario have begun using the BlackWolf to enhance their tactical response capabilities.

Officials say the purpose of the CRV is to enhance safety for everyone in the service, particularly front-line officers who regularly respond to high-risk situations.

There have also been reported increases in firearm-related incidents recently, which BPS says underscores the need for additional safety measures.

The BPS currently has the vehicle on a one-month demo for the Emergency Response Unit.
