Water trunk construction to impact Belleville St traffic moved to Sep 26

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 23, 2025 | 2:49 PM

The installation of a water trunk main connection in Wellington will impact traffic on Belleville St on Friday, Sep 26.

In addition, the bulk water filling stations at the Wellington and District Community Centre and the 3″ bulk station at the Wellington water tower will be temporarily out of service that day.

Please note: This work was previously scheduled to take place on Thursday, Sep 25. The date has changed due to the high probability of rain on that day.

Belleville St across from the water tower will be reduced to one lane. Flaggers will control the flow of traffic through the construction area. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to avoid the construction area and travel alternate routes if possible.

Work will take place from 7am to 7pm and is expected to be completed the same day. Heavy equipment may limit visibility in the area and noise levels will be elevated for the duration of work.

Customers requiring bulk water filling service during this time are asked to use the Picton (15 MacSteven Dr) or Carrying Place (21651 Loyalist Parkway) bulk loading stations.

This work is required as part of the Wellington trunk watermain and sanitary sewer construction project. The municipality expects the majority of the project to be completed by the end of 2025 with some trail restoration happening in the spring of 2026.
