Driver charged with impaired following weekend crash near Bancroft

Bancroft OPP charged a driver with impaired operation after locating a vehicle collision late Friday night.

On Friday, October 24, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., Bancroft OPP officers attended the scene of the collision on Highway 62 South in Limerick Township.

The driver of the vehicle was extricated by Limerick Fire. A test with an approved alcohol screening device was conducted. The driver refused further testing.

A’dele MITCHELL, a 38-year-old resident of Bancroft, has been charged with:

Failure or refusal to comply with demand
Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused’s license was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on December 2, 2025.
