The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board picked up three nominations from the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario for their annual Awards of Excellence, which will be awarded later this week in Ottawa.
The nominations are for marketing campaign under $50k, travel media, and workforce innovation and collaboration.
The three awards include; Marketing Campaign – Under $50K Award, the Travel Media Story Award for “Rooted Along the Bay” by Izabela Jaroszynski for Northern Soul by Landsby, and the Workforce Innovation and Collaboration Award
BOQ Regional Marketing Board executive director Dug Stevenson noted that being nominated in three different categories is a terrific feeling and a validation that the team is doing strong work for this region and its partners.
Other Bay of Quinte region organizations have also been nominated for the Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence, including The Waterfront River Pub & Terrace’s Napanee River Tours, nominated in the Attraction of the Year category. The award recognizes exceptional success in attracting visitors, elevating the local visitor economy, and providing an outstanding, memorable guest experience.
“Napanee River Tours is both thrilled and humbled to be nominated for the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario’s Attraction of the Year award. There is no question it is due directly to the creativity, dedication and hospitality of our team and the wonderful guests we have welcomed,” says Jane Adams-Roy of The Waterfront River Pub & Terrace/Napanee River Tours.
“We are incredibly proud to bring visitors to Napanee, and we share this honour with our guests, community and everyone who has helped make these journeys possible.”
Brighton Applefest has also been nominated for Event of the Year, for demonstrating exceptional success in attracting regional and provincial visitors, generating significant economic impact, and elevating the profile of its destination.
“I was so excited to read that The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario chose Brighton Applefest as a finalist for Event of the Year,” Laura Knegt, Applefest Chair, stated.
I am grateful to the staff and volunteers of the Municipality of Brighton, whose hard work and dedication have made this premier festival possible for the past 52 years!” This nomination builds on Applefest’s distinction for both 2025 and 2026 of being a Top 100 Festival and Event in Ontario.
