Northumberland County info regarding Canada Post strike

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 27, 2025 | 6:32 AM

Northumberland County is notifying residents that all incoming and outgoing mail services are currently unavailable due to a national strike at Canada Post.

Mail services will be affected until Canada Post resumes normal operations.

During this labour disruption, Northumberland County will not send any large distribution mailings, such as notices and bills, and may be unable to receive incoming mail.

Residents and service partners who recently received an invoice for a County service are still responsible for the timely payment of their bills, even during a disruption.

Where possible, online payments are encouraged.

Payments and pick-ups such as Ontario Works can be made in person at Northumberland County Headquarters, 555 Courthouse Rd, Cobourg.

Fines incurred under the Provincial Offences Act can be paid in person at 860 William St, Cobourg, online at Northumberland.ca/tickets, or paid over the phone by calling 905.372.3329 ext. 5300 or toll free at 1.800.354.7050 ext. 5300.

For updates on the negotiations, please visit the Canada Post website at canadapost.ca/negotiations.
