Following the overwhelming success of the last year’s event, Savour the Flavour is back for its third annual mac and cheese contest on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm in Downtown Belleville.
Last fall, crowds packed Downtown Belleville to taste inventive mac and cheese creations, proving the city’s love for comfort food. This year, 17 Downtown restaurants are participating or rather battling for People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice trophies!
Stepping in again as the title sponsor, Lactalis Canada kindly has donated cheese and butter to all participating businesses. “This is a true show of community support and we are grateful for their continued investment in our Downtown.” Said Executive Director Danielle Furtado.
Voting for the People’s Choice Award can be done in person at the Downtown Belleville booth located at the corner of Front St and Bridge St East, as well as online through the Downtown Belleville website, or by scanning QR codes on event posters at each participating restaurant.
For $4 per bowl, attendees can taste their way through a variety of cheesy delights- from Duck Confit Mac n’ Cheese to Chilli Mac. Guests are encouraged to bring cash and their own forks to help reduce waste.
The judges for the event include George Wang (owner of George Wang EXP Realty), Jessie Wionzek (owner of Doki Doki), Cindy Iamundo (winner of Downtown Belleville social media giveaway), as well as representatives from event sponsor Lactalis Canada will be the final judges.

On site at the event will be community partners; Belleville Pregnancy and Family Care Centre as well as Lactalis and their pal “Cheesy” the mascot from who will be handing out free Cheesestrings!
