One giant first step toward bringing more attainable homeownership opportunities to the Base 31 community in Prince Edward County.
Bay of Quinte MPP Tyler Allsopp and Housing Minister Rob Flack joined County dignitaries for a groundbreaking at The Landing for the first piece of housing/rentals at Base 31.
Around 120-units will be built in the first phase, known as Hilltop Village, as part of a partnership with Base 31 and Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Hastings.
As part of the partnership, a 10-per cent portion of the housing will be used for Habitat for Humanity.
Base 31 will make a designated block of townhouse lots available to Habitat PEH in Hilltop Village, with Base 31 leading exterior construction and Habitat completing the interiors and supporting qualifying homeowners through its affordable homeownership program.
