A Belleville Senators alumnus has been locked up long-term in the Nation’s Capital.
It was announced Tuesday that Drake Batherson signed an eight-year contract extension with the NHL’s Ottawa Senators.
The deal carries an annual average value of 10.75-million dollars US, the largest in franchise history and keeps the 28-year-old winger under contract through 2034-35.
Batherson is coming off a career year, scoring 33 goals and adding 38 assists for 71 points in 79 games.
The 28-year-old from Nova Scotia registered 116 points in 103 games over parts of two seasons with the B-Sens from 2018-20.
