Work is slated to begin on the roads and sidewalks of the Northeast Industrial Park.
City officials say Earth-Crete Inc. has been contracted for the work, which will also include culvert and ditch improvements to enhance surface drainage and upgrades to railway crossings on College Street East and Jamieson Bone Road.
Other elements include;
Completion of new sidewalks along Jamieson Bone Road and College Street East
Culvert and ditch improvements to enhance surface drainage
Road rehabilitation on College Street East between the railway tracks
Roadways will generally remain open to traffic throughout construction; however, temporary traffic disruptions may be required as work progresses.
Short-term road closures on College Street East are also anticipated to allow CN Rail to complete the railway crossing upgrades. Advance notice will be provided before any planned closures.
The contractor will notify affected residents and businesses in advance of traffic disruptions, where required.
Appropriate signage will be in place to direct motorists and pedestrians through the construction area.
Construction is expected to begin this month, with completion anticipated by winter 2026.
