A male suspect was arrested on multiple charges after one person was stabbed and a second was also attacked in separate incidents.
Thursday night at 9:40 p.m., Belleville Police responded to the area of Front Street regarding a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female outside a business who reported that, during an altercation inside, a male had grabbed her by the throat. Following the incident, the parties left the area separately.
While investigating, officers received a separate call reporting a stabbing involving the same male suspect at an apartment above the business. Officers attended and located a male victim in the hallway suffering from stab-related injuries.
Officers subsequently located the male suspect inside his apartment and took him into custody without further incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 65-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with:
· Assault with a weapon
· Assault – spousal
He was held for a bail hearing.
The male victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
