Belleville Police have charged a man following an investigation into a reported case of domestic violence.
On September 9, 2026, Belleville Police investigated a report of a domestic dispute.
It was reported that a verbal argument between a male and female escalated. During the incident, the male reportedly smashed several household items, pushed the female into a wall, and forcibly confined her in a bedroom by holding the door closed and preventing her from leaving.
Following the incident, the male left the residence. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate him.
On September 10, as a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested and charged with:
· Mischief under $5000
· Assault – spousal
· Forcible confinement
He was held for a bail hearing. No name was released.
