A group of four from Trenton is celebrating after winning $1 million in the ONTARIO 49 draw on July 11, 2026.
Their ticket was one of two that split the $2 million top prize.
The group members are:
Alvin B. of Trenton
Alaine M. of Trenton
Linda M. of Trenton
Shellie M. of Trenton
The four retirees have been playing the lottery together every Friday for about a year. Now, they’re thrilled to share the news of their first major win.
“My wife and I woke up, made some coffee, and turned on the news,” Alaine recalled while visiting the OLG Prize Centre to collect the group’s winnings. “She started checking our tickets and said, ‘I think we won $1 million!’ We were in disbelief. We called Alvin and his wife, and all four of us went straight to the store to check the ticket together.”
When asked how it feels to win the lottery, the group said, “It feels unreal! Being here at the Prize Centre, it’s finally setting in.”
With their winnings, they plan to explore more of Canada and put some money in the bank.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Korner Store on Dundas Street West in Trenton.
