Belleville Police have charged a teenage male following a series of incidents in the east end.
On Wednesday at 3:23 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a disturbance involving youth.
It was reported that three youth were outside the residence when two of them asked a male youth to leave the property. The male refused, and a verbal argument ensued. During the confrontation, the male youth reportedly attempted to strike the other two youth with his bicycle.
Officers attended and spoke with all parties involved. When advised he was under arrest, the male youth attempted to flee on his bicycle and resisted arrest.
As a result of the investigation, a 13-year-old Belleville male, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), was charged with the following offences:
· Assault
· Resist peace officer
He was held for a bail hearing.
